Financial Modelling Analyst – contract

Salary starts at approx £65,000 pro rata

One of the top independent schools in the country has an opportunity for a Financial Modelling Analyst. The school has recently established a Programme Management Office (PMO) to deliver its ambitious 2030 Strategy.

Job Overview
As Financial Modelling Analyst you have the following responsibilities:

* Build an overarching (Financial Master Plan) PMO financial model in excel based on historical and other available information from individual ‘Workstreams’ and/or Market Analysis to build ‘Assumptions’ with agreed ‘Tolerances’
* Conduct scenario analysis based on micro and macro-economic factors to access business risk and business case led investments
* Ensure ‘Financial Master Plan’ accuracy while enhancing the model’s quality
* Recommend and implement financial process improvements for the PMO through Strategic Sponsors, Projects Leads and Projects Teams
* Ensure Board approval to the Financial Master Plan and ensure Portfolio approval to the on-going development of the Financial Master Plan
* Update the Financial Master Plan after each Financial meeting with Strategic Sponsors, Project Leads
* Work harmoniously with the Finance Manager and Finance Director to identify essential and missing information to support the development, assumptions, and modelling of the Financial Master Plan
* Prepare regular forecast reports and commentary to bring the Executive Committee, Financial Committee, Board, and other key stakeholders up to date with developments

Experience and skills required

* Qualified Accountant
* Demonstrated experience of advanced modelling skills
* Advanced forecasting, planning and analysis experience
* A strong aptitude for financial and analytical systems
* Ability to think strategically and work cross-functionally
* Problem solving skills
* Ability to work on multiple programmes and workstreams

Person Specification

* You will be results orientated.
* Strong modelling experience is essential.
* Exposure to sensitivity analysis, cash flow modelling, with strong analytical capabilities.
* Highly organised; hard working; ‘can do’ attitude; problem solver.
* Finisher/completer mindset with very high standards and independently minded.
* Articulate, succinct, strong verbal and writing skills.
* You will have a creative approach to complex problem solving and be proactive in seeking out improvements to existing ways of working.
